Donation Drive for The People's Wellness Initiative
Plant Pioneers and Forever Wild have partnered with The People’s Wellness Initiative. A grassroots collective run by Black, Brown and Indigenous healers and allied herbalists. The initiative’s mission is to grow and support networks of BIPOC and allied herbalists who are offering direct support to families in marginalized communities devastated by COVID-19 that are being underserved. They are working to bring medicinal support and healing resources through various education based and fundraising campaigns to BIPOC communities. The People's Wellness Initiative is located in the Hudson, Delaware Co., Catskill and NYC areas.
The Sweetgrass prepared into this spray has been lovingly tended to by allied herbalist Marguerite Uhlmann-Bower for the last 25 yrs. She is a traditional herbalist, wild crafter, plant intelligence educator, and owner of Plant Pioneers - a human-plant relations movement. Today, it has become a gift of thanks for the gifter who donates towards The People's Wellness Initiative.
Though this is a Sweetgrass Spray and not a Sweetgrass braid, it has been found to have many of the same attributes and properties described about Sweetgrass Braids and thus it should be treated with the same compassion, honor, and respect as the braid. Sweetgrass is only to be gifted and shared as it is a very sacred plant. Robin Wall Kimmerer, a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation says that when one smells Sweetgrass, it helps us remember where we came from, Mother Earth. This, is truly a gift.
